delete:-Is used to delete the data from table
purge:-is used to delete the data from recyclebin

To systematically and permanently remove old and un needed data. The term purge is stronger than delete. It is often possible to regain deleted objects by undeleting them, but purged objects are gone forever.
You can delete:
Account master records
Business unit/company records
You can purge:
Prior year journal entries
Prior year account balances
Bank statement header records
Bank statement detail records

Difference b/w delete and purge?
Hi,I have 3yrs of recruitment experience at India(recently relocated to UK)with BBM and PGDM-HR qualification. I am interested in changing my career to Oracle(functional), after researching now i end up in dilemma whether to undergo whole HRMS course provided by ORACLE partners or only one topic related to my experince.
