A monkey climbs a 52 – m smooth pole. It climbs 6 m up in one minute and slips 2 m down in eve..

Answer / sandeep.r

24 minutes and 40 seconds.

A monkey will climb a distance of 4m in every 2 minutes
(lets call it 1 cycle of climbing 6m and slipping 2m)

so it will take a total of 12 such cycles for it reach 48m
i.e. 24 minutes.

now it has to cover another 4 meters to reach the top.

So

it covers 6m in 1 minute i.e 6m in 60 sec.

so it covers 1 m in 60/6 sec i.e 10 sec.
so it covers 4 m in 10*4=40 sec.

So in total it takes 24 minutes and 40 seconds.

A monkey climbs a 52 – m smooth pole. It climbs 6 m up in one minute and slips 2 m down in eve..

Answer / bhavya

IN 1st min it climbs-6m, and in 2nd min it slips-2ms
i.e = 1 min- 6m =6m
2 min- (6m-2m)=4m
.'. in every 2min it can climb= 10m (6m+4m)
3 min- 6m (10m+6m) =16m
4 min- 4m (16m+4m) =20m
5 min- 6m (20m+6m) =26m
6 min- 4m (26m+4m) =30m
7 min- 6m (30m+6m) =36m
8 min- 4m (36m+4m) =40m
9 min- 6m (40m+6m) =46m
10 min- 6m (46m+6m) =52m

and in last min there is no chance to slip
So the ans is = 10min

A monkey climbs a 52 – m smooth pole. It climbs 6 m up in one minute and slips 2 m down in eve..

Answer / vinit.p.c

Reading the question carefully...
Monkey climbs 6m/min...it slips by 2m evey alternate min
which means it climbs 6m and slips by 2m...
So,
1st min->6m
2nd min->((6+6)-2)=10
So,for 5*(2 min) i.e for 10 min it would have climbed 50
m...(Considering it slips by 2 m in 10th min)
Here, in the 10 min if it climbs 6 m and doesnot slip, the
answer is 10 min. If it slips, then for 2 m i.e 50m to 52
m, it would be (2/6)*60=20 seconds.
So, answer would be 10 min,20 seconds.

A monkey climbs a 52 – m smooth pole. It climbs 6 m up in one minute and slips 2 m down in eve..

Answer / deepesh

IN 1st min it climbs-6m, and in 2nd min it slips-2ms
bcoz it slip in alternate minute 2 m not i min so it clim in
one min 6 min and again 2min it climb 6min then total 12 m
and 2m slip then overall it climb in 2 min =12m-2m =10m
i.e = 1 min- 6m =6m
2 min- (6m-2m)=4m
.'. in every 2min it can climb= 10m (6m+4m)
3 min- 6m (10m+6m) =16m
4 min- 4m (16m+4m) =20m
5 min- 6m (20m+6m) =26m
6 min- 4m (26m+4m) =30m
7 min- 6m (30m+6m) =36m
8 min- 4m (36m+4m) =40m
9 min- 6m (40m+6m) =46m
10 min- 6m (46m+6m) =52m

and in last min there is no chance to slip
So the ans is = 10min
