The global checkpoint is to flush/store the log (in memory
too) onto a
disk.
The global checkpoint is a more frequent activity,
therefore, the log on
the disk has more up-to-date transaction than the snapshot
on disk,
which created by local checkpoint

to recover the failure .
these are globally saved by the all processes.
