Data source enhancement is appending a field to the
communication structure of the data source where that field
is not available in communication structure but available
in some other table. since its an appended field value for
that field should not be populated by sap. in order to fill
the value for that appended field you should write a
customer exit code.
appending a field to the communication stru and populating
the value for that field by using customer exit is know as
data source enhancement.
