what are the main parts of UPS what is the function of that?
Answer Posted / khalidshaikh
IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO WRITE ABOUT WHAT DOES UPS STANDS FOR
OR WHAT IS ITS FUNCTION, AS FOR AS QUESTION IS CONCERNED
REPLY IS SUBMITTED AS UNDER PLEASE.
BATTERY:- FIRST OF ALL UPS CONVERTS UN INTERRUPTED AC FROM
DC, FOR WHICH WE NEED A GOOD CAPACITY BATTERY.
RECTIFIER:- WHEN BATTERY BECAME DISCHARGED AFTER RUNNING
FOR A TIME, RECTIFIER REQUIRES FOR CONVERTING SYSTEM AC TO
DC.
STEP DOWN TRANSFORMER:- SYSTEM VOLTAGE IS 220 V AC AND
BATTERY REQUIRES 12 V DC , FOR WHICH STEP DOWN TRANSFORMER
IS REQUIRED TO CONVERT THE SAME.
STEP UP TRANSFORMER:- WHEN UPS IS IN WORKING CONDITION. IT
OPERATES ON DC, AND CONVERTS 220 V AC, FOR WHICH STEP UP
TRANSFORMER IS REQUIRED.
DOUBLE CONVERSION TRANSFORMER:- SAME TRANFORMER IS MOSTLY
USED FOR STEP DOWN AND STEP UP, MEANS IN UPS WE ARE IN ONE
STATE, EITHER CHARGING BATTERY OR RECEIVING CHARGE FROM
BATTERY THROUGH THIS TRANSFORMER.
FREQUENCY CIRCUIT/ AC CONVERSION CIRCUIT/ DRIVER CIRCUIT:-
WE KNOW THAT TRANSFORMER WORKS ONLY ON AC OR VARYING
CURRENT, FOR WHICH FREQUENCY CIRCUIT CONVERTS 12 V AC AT 50
HZ FROM 12 V DC THOUGH BI STABLE MULTI VIBERATOR.AND DRIVER
CIRCUIT WHICH DRIVES STEP UP TRANDFORMER FOR CONVERSION OF
220 V AC FROM 12 V AC.
RELAYS AND CONTROL CIRCUIT:- RELAYS ARE REQUIRED TO MONITOR
AVAILABILITY OF MAINS AC AND IN CASE OF AC FAILURE STARTING
OF FREQUENCY CIRCUIT TO GENERATE UPS.
