Question { 16720 }

What is Database Testing? How will you do it?

Answer

sorry sudeep your answer is wrong DATA DRIVEN TESTING is
nothing but restesting the application with different types
of inputs.

BUT database testing is different.

here the database testing means the data entered in the
front end should store properly and the data stored in the
backend(database like SQL server,Oracle..)should be display
in front end properly without any change.

here the data stored in the backend in the form of tables.

for eample if we take yahoomail login page for signin
the frontend the login window askes you your UserID and
password.

the user ID and password will be compared with the databse
table values which you entered at the time of new account
registration.

So here there is a big diffrenece bet ween database testing
and Data Driven testing.

Database testing is testing of data consistemcy in the
database

Question { 6373 }

What is Pesticide Defect?

Answer

SORRY vera Reddy i am not agreeing with your answer

pesticide defect is related to defect immunity.
for example if a farmer used one brand of pesticide first
time to save the crop from viruses and insects first time
it works effectively, then gradually it's efficiency gets
reduced for each use of pesticide later.

this is because of the anti crop agents like viruses and
insects develop immunity against the pesticide.

like this if you use same type of test cases and test data
for every application testing after some time the testcases
may not detect a single bug.

because the the development people get contious of their
past defects and generally they won't commit similar
defects again.

like this defects also get immunity against test cases.

Question { Semantic Space, 7521 }

how will u know whether ur reported bug is accepted r
rejected?

Answer

hai swetha
defect status will indicates whether
thereported bug is accepted or rejected.

if u are using a bug tracking tool like testdirector or
bugzilla or some other the developeer who is assigned the
defect will change the defect status from new to
duplicate/open/rejected/differed/fixed.

if the same defect is identified before then the defect
status is 'duplicate'.

During the developper solving the bug the status will be
changed by developper as 'open'.

if it not a bug because the defect may a software
limitation or hardware limitation then it's status
is 'rejected'.

it there is time to fix the bug or if it is risk to fix
the bug in the end of the project then the developper
postpones the bug fixing to next release ten it is called
'differed'.

if the developper is cleard the reported bug then it's
status is 'fixed'.

setha remember one thing all these things are given by the
developper not by tester.
