Let's mark the corners of the triangle as A,B,C. There are
total 8 ways in which ants can move.
1. A->B, B->C, C->A
2. A->B, B->C, C->B
3. A->B, B->A, C->A
4. A->B, B->A, C->B
5. A->C, C->B, B->A
6. A->C, C->B, B->C
7. A->C, C->A, B->A
8. A->C, C->A, B->C

Out of which, there are only two cases under which the ants
won't collide :
? A->B, B->C, C->A
? A->C, C->B, B->A

Answer / some guy who hates his life

Don't answer. Just hang up the phone and look for a sharp object.

I thought the ants (or robots, in my case) could reverse their paths randomly at any point like so many toy robots that move pseudo-randomly.

Dang it! I really wanted that job too.
