steel is more elastic than rubber, let us cnosider two rods of rubber and steel each and let Yr and Ys be the young's modulus of elasticity when you apply load on them then length of rubber will be more than that of steel rod then
Yr/Ys=lr/ls>1 ie.Ys>Yr
therefore steel is more elastic han rubber

ELASTICITY IS DEFINED IN TERMS OF RECOVERY TO ORIGINAL
POSITION FROM STRETCHED CONDITION, ONCE LOAD IS REMOVED.
WHEN A MATERIAL IS LOADED, IT DEFORMS AND IF LOAD IS
REMOVED AND MATERIAL COMES BACK TO ORIGINAL STATE, IT IS
CALLED ELASTIC, ELSE IT IS CALLED PLASTIC.
BETWEEN RUBBER AND STEEL, RUBBER CAN BE LOADED TO HIGHER
STRAINS AND STEEL CAN BE RECOVERED BACK. STEEL HAS MAXIMUM
ELONGATION OF 8%, WHEREAS RUBBER CAN BE STRAINED TO ABOVE
100%. SO IN INTERVIEWS, MOST OF THE TIME INTERVIEWER
EXPECTS THIS EXPLANATION.
CORRECT ANSWER IS RUBBER IS MORE ELASTIC THEN STEEL BECAUSE
IT CAN RECOVER FROM HIGHER STRAINS.
