structures?

your questuion is how to decide the load
combinations................load combinations mainly
depends on the site. in general dl+ll is common for all
types of structures.eartquake loads are considered the site
is in earthquake zone.if the site on high altitudes where
the wind pressure acts wind loads are to be added.in all
tha cases dl+ll is common and the rest depends on the site
conditions...................

its mainly depends on the site. dl+ll is commonly for all
the site. if the site is situsted in earth quake zone then
the earth quake load is to be taken, if the site is in the
high altitude then we have to be taken wind load. the main
thing is wherever the earth quake load is taken then there
wind load cant take. or vice versa

high altitude then we have to be taken wind load. Load also
depend on the soil bearing capacity. Partial safty factor
is to be taken.

selection of load case for design of structures is depends
on designer. generally select those load case which give max
Mz My & Py (**but it differ structures to structures). But
some time we select those L/C, whose probability of
occurring is more.for example, in mountainous area we select
those combination which contain snow load along with other
primary loads.

site .If site is situated in earth quake zone & at high
altitude , combination of all above loads is necessary.
