For this type of situation we can call it as Ad-hoc Testing.
Due to lack of documentation we can follow this testing.
Exploratory Testing: -
Due to lack of proper documentation of the software being built, the
test engineers depend on past experience, discuss with others, browse the Internet
or Operate similar projects and contact customer side people if possible.
This style of testing is called “Exploratory Testing”.

In some of the companies they follow that soon after the
build is released they do sanity testing inorder to check
the functionality and monkey testing
