what is derating factor in Cable ? how we minimise this?..

Answer / realas

The cable derating factor is the reduction from its present
capacity for a certain gradual amount due to intermittent
ambient temperature, insufficient space, unbalance flux,
higher voltage dropped, depreciation, etc.

To minimize the cause and effect conduct proper survey and
proper wiring to withstand on the cable loads and locations.

what is derating factor in Cable ? how we minimise this?..

Answer / nid

derating factors are differ with the bunching of cables for
single layer it is .9
double layer .71
tripple layer .62
4 layer .56

what is derating factor in Cable ? how we minimise this?..

Answer / viral

Due to partial discharges in cable it can't be utilized to
it's rated capacity.
As current flowing to charge cable capacitance is extra
burden on that which will make it to carry less current for
load.
To reduce this good insulation material should be use.

what is derating factor in Cable ? how we minimise this?..

Answer / jagadisha.n bmsit

Loss of Dielectric strength of cable is the derating factor
of cable.... It can be minimized by selecting the proper
rating of cable with operating conditions and proper
maintenance of cables

what is derating factor in Cable ? how we minimise this?..

Answer / chirag

Derating factor is very useful thing for selection of cable
when it is necessary to laying in air, duct or ground. wIt
depends on the ambient temperatre

what is derating factor in Cable ? how we minimise this?..

Answer / viswanathan.

For obtaining a desired current at the utilisation end of a
cable irresponsible to the rated current carrying capacity
of a cable, many factors to be consider which tends to
reduces the current carrying capacity of a cable. viz
length of cable, connected equipment, inductive, capacitive
loads, etc. these factors will increases the actual current
and desired size of a cable.
