How can one use the pH and the pKa to determine the acid-base form of a compound?..

Answer / guest

take the buffer equation,
put pH and pK on one side of =
then the other side of = gives the ratio og the
corresponding acid/base system

if you know the formal concentration, you can calculate the
concentration of both components!
this is not easy to measure in many cases
