Water content is the weight of water divided by the weight of the wet material. Moisture content is the weight of water divided by the the weight of the dry material. As seen the denominator is either the wet or the dry material giving different values for the water content and the moisture content,

in water content, we check bounded form of water between compound molecules (weak bounded) , if water present on compound with adsorbent form then we check moisture by LOD or moisture analyzer.
