Cross sectional area of rod is circular.
Circle area = (π*d*d)/4
Which means = (3.1415*d*d)/4.
= (d*d)/162

we know that unit weight of steel rod is 7850 kg/m^(3) and W/l=unit weight*area
so weight per unit length=7850*((π*d*d)/4)*10^(-6)=6.16*10^(-3)d*d=d*d/162
