Verify the error message after logging when wrong User name using.

Verify the error message after logging when wrong User name and Password using.
Verify the error message after logging when long username , that exceeds the limit of characters using.

Anyone can please inform me about how to write test cases for any mathematical calculations. Say for example, we have a formula in a given scenario for calculating the interest. The given formula for interest is: (principle * 5)/(12 * 100) In this case, the principle amount may vary.
