both the techniques gives loss on drying but vacuum oven
technique is used for the compound which cannot sustain the
high temperatures used in ordinary oven technique

Loss on drying ordinary oven means it is drying on products nature . It's only
drying with steam. And vacuum oven drying with vacuum and steam.
