DC Machine output is smooth dc voltage and rectifier output
is a pulsating dc voltage.

IT DEPENDS UPON THE POLES IN THE D.C. MACHINE IF THERE ARE TWO
POLES IN D.C. MACHINE IT WORKS AS THE FULL WAVE RECTIFIER
IF WE INCREASE NUMBER OF POLES MORE THAN 2 THEN THERE IS A MORE
DC POWER IN COMPARISON TO FULL WAVE RECTIFIER
THE GENERATOR OUTPUT IS MORE SMOOTH THAN RECTIFIER

if rectifier is half-wave type then there is difference . in case of dc machine the output will same like full-wave rectifier.as we know that inside dc machine emf induced as sinusoidal but due to commutator the output becomes like full-wave rectifier type.
