PLC- programmabale logic controller - more like a micro
controller but program resides in PLC can b modified without
knowledge of C or assembly language. maily used for making
logical flow of a process..
whereas
scada- supervisory control and data acquisition system- this
is software that control two or more PLCs.. Donno in which
laguage this program is written but as far as n
instrumentation engg is concerned we need to control PLCs
from scada.

PLC and SCADA are used in the automation field which is a
booming field now adays
PLC-Programmable Logic Controller
SCADA-Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition.
PLC is very good Programmable storage device which performs
more than few operations in a ckt using timers & counters
SCADA is the process which is used as a monitoring&
controlling device from a single place.

PLC: PLC is a Micro Processor based Electronic Device which is used to control certain process according to predefined programs which are saved in the PLC. These programs can be change or modified as per the requirement.
SCADA: as its name Implies Supervisory Control and Data acquisition, is used for monitoring and controlling of Processes which displayed graphically. Through SCADA we can do just small changes during the execution of process ( e.g, we can change only value of variables). Also it gives feature like storing, and can communicate to other servers.
Here programming is done in Scripting language.

PLC : PLC is a device which is used to control field devices based on the instructions given to it
Scada: Supervisory control means not directly control the field devices monitor the devices and control through the PLC
PLC : Data storage is not possible.
Scada: Gather the required information and store at one place.

PLC - Programmable logic controller. Its a hardware, which is directly in contact with field instruments. it works according to the logic written in plc.(EX: like a computer hardware)
SCADA - Supervisory control and data acquisition. Its a software, which shows the out put feed back in visual manner, that plc cant do. (EX: like a computer screen)

plc: programable logic controller
by plc we've control monitering and veriable the value also change the programming acording to requirement of process.
scada: supervisory control add data asquistion.
by scada we've control, monitoring and display the system but not change the program.
