I answered YES!
Tubelight starter is just like a push button. Not of use
once the system is started. When u have switched on the
supply in the TL touch and remove the contacts of the 2
terminals that were to be connected to the starter a several
times so that u generate appropriate di/dt, until the
required voltage is induced in the choke coil that u'll see
as light starting glowing

suppose u dont have the starter & u want to start the
tubelight then just short the two contacts of the starter
by the conductor, tube will get on.

between the ends

Yes, If we replace magnetic ballast with electronic ballast,there is no need of starter if we use electronic ballast.......

The mercury atoms in the fluorescent tube must be ionized
before the arc can "strike" within the tube. For small
lamps, it does not take much voltage to strike the arc and
starting the lamp presents no problem, but larger tubes
require a substantial voltage

Normaly chock used fo rthe starting purpose.. at the
starthing moment it generate huge voltage.

We use MCCB not MCB for motor starters because MCCBs has capablity to drawout the motor starting current which is 5-6 times the full load current of motor for 1sec. Then why we use SDF in starter panel means MCC panels. Pls reply if any one knows this answer.
