What is the difference between MPCB and OLR?..

Answer / satish m

As mentioned in above answers the abbrivation is correct.
The main difference is MPCB is the combination of contactor
and OLR, it having in built OLR.

OLR- it is an element it is connected to the output of the
contactor to protect the motor.

What is the difference between MPCB and OLR?..

Answer / sachin

MPCB is device which has inbuilt OLR+Short circuit
connected to Trip coil.
In event of fault like oveload OLR coil will sense and give
command to trip coil to trip.
In event of Short circuit fault SC coil will energise
inside MPCB and trip circuit breaker.

In case of OLR over load relay, its only a primary device
which senses only over loads. We need to connect contactor
to break the circuit.

What is the difference between MPCB and OLR?..

Answer / nithyanandam

Mr. Vinoth everyone know that MPCB is Motor protection
circuit breaker and OLR is Over load relay.

What is the difference between them.

OLR break the circuit and MPCB also break the circuit.

Please tell me difference between these two things

What is the difference between MPCB and OLR?..

Answer / murugesh

OLR is the relay which senses the overload current i.e more than 100% of the motor capcity, whereas MPCB breaks the circuit during shortcircuit i.e current in the range of 5 to 10 times the rated current.

What is the difference between MPCB and OLR?..

Answer / nithyananthan

hi. the olr and mpcb both are the protecting devices. but
the olr senses the current of winding capacity. means the
maximum current which does not cause the winding
insulation.it always connected in the starter.

but the mpcb sense the over current by means of load. the
phase to phase short, and the dead short are sensed by the mpcb.

What is the difference between MPCB and OLR?..

Answer / nithyanandam

Mr. Satish thank you for your answer.

In an Interview I'm also told the same answer. But the
Interviewer asked, "You are saying The difference with
cosidering the circuit connection only. Please tell me
difference with considering Over load current and short
circuit current. This is the major difference between them".

I'm really don't Know answer untill now. Please tell me the
answer immediately.

What is the difference between MPCB and OLR?..

Answer / ravikumar

OLR - OVERLOAD RELAY
MPCB- MOTOR PROTECTION CIRCUIT BREAKER
IF SHORT CIRCUIT IS OCCURED IN CIRCUITS ,
OLR - MELT THE COIL TO TRIP AFTER ITS AUTOMATICALLY
CAME NORMAL POSITION BUT,
MPCB- TRIP THE COIL IT WILL BE MANUALLY SWITCH ON THE RUN
THIS IS THE DIFFERENCE
