prevent the oxidation of iodide which means that iodine can
not be used for the synthesis of thyroxine.
some important goitrogens are
1. 6-propyl-2-thiouracil.
2. 2-thiouracil.
3. thiourea
4.sulphonamides.
these gitrogens are found in cabbage,turnips,spinach and
peas etc.
