what is the difference betweem star connected motor & delta
connected motor?
Answer Posted / s.r.ramalingam
PHASE CURRENT AND PHASE VOLTAGE IS THE MAJOR DIFFERENCE...
IN STAR CONNECTION,
PHASE CURRENT IS EQUAL TO THE LINE CURRENT.
THT IS,
I LINE = I PHASE
BUT,
V LINE = ROOT 3* V PHASE
IN DELTA CONNECTION,
PHASE VOLTAGE IS EQUAL TO THE LINE VOLTAGE.
THAT IS,
V LINE = V PHASE
BUT,
I LINE = ROOT 3* I PHASE.
