There are three types of neutral grounding. TN, TT and IT.
TN and TT connect directly to earth the star point of the
transformer (neutral). The IT system does not cotenect the
neutral to the ground. (isolating earth (french isolation
terre)). However, some IT systems connect the neutral to the
earth throw a resistor. I do not give you many details but
they are equivalent because both suport just one fault to
the earth.
