why in scott connection of transformers, main transformer is
tapped at 50% and teaser transformer at 86.6%?
Answer Posted / sharib hussain
For making a scott connection as a four wire (having
neutral point), the teasor transformer is tapped for
neutral in such a way that the line voltage = 1.732 times
phase voltage.
By looking into phasor diagram u will come to know that the
neutral must be present at the position it divides the
primary of teasor transformer in the ratio of 2:1
and hence it is tapped at 86.6%
