Raj has a jewel chest containing Rings, Pins and Ear-rings.
The chest contains 26 pieces. Raj has 2 1/2 times as many
rings as pins, and the number of pairs of earrings is 4
less than the number of rings.
How many earrings does Raj have?

lets rings r x, pins r y and total earing pairs r z.
now,
x = 5/2y.............(1)
Again,
z= x-4.........(2)(z is the no .of pairs)
from 1 and 2
x+y+2z=26
x+2/5x+2(x-4)=26
solving this we have
x=10, putting this into 2 we have z=6 but the total no. of ear rings are 2*6=12
and pins r 4 in numbers.
TOTAL EARRINGS ARE 12 IN NUMBERS.
