Any Bluetooth solution consists of four major components:
antenna/RF component, Bluetooth hardware and firmware
(baseband and Link Controller), Bluetooth software protocol
stack, and the application itself. Each of these components
is a product in itself, and companies exist that have
entire business models based around solving only one of
these four areas.
