what's the difference between induction generator and
synchronous generator?
Answer / amit kumar singh
In Synchronous generator, the generator output frequency is
equal to rotational frequency of prime mover. for example,
to generate 50 Hz power frequency the rotor rotates at 3000
rpm for 2 pole machine.
But, in Induction generator, the frequency and magnitude of
power produced depends upon the slip above synchronous
speed. it means to generate 50 Hz frequency power the rotor
has to rotate above 3000 rpm for two pole machine.
