WHAT IS BASICS TO SELECTION OF 11 kv Trasformer, send any
calculation sheet for selection of transformer

Answer / shiva
for any application selection depends on local distribution
(sub station ) transmission ,secondary voltage and finally
depends only on demand KVA of u r plant.

Answer / anuya
Basic & most important factor is transformer capacity which
can be derived by calculating all connected loads at
downstream. It will give the KVA rating.
Primary-secondary voltage ratio & vector group.
Environmental conditions like temp, etc. Application
Indoor/outdoor.
Cooling type requirement will deside the Xmer will be Oil
cooled or dry type unit.
Impedance of the Xmer.
Load type.

Answer / prabhu gnanasekaran
11 KV transformer or anyother transformer the calculation
of the transformer is done only as per the loads connected
in it(Continious load, stand by load and Auxillary load). No
of motors connected to it,KW rating of the mator, Total
line current of all motors.
If it is 11 KV the your primary side of the transformer is
11 KV thats all. Due to this 11 KV the line current
calcultation will change in the factor of system voltage
level in Line current calculation of the motor.

Grounding. Dear all at one of my site we checked the amps at the earthing cable to the alternator it was found 125 to 130 A. at the neutal cable in same machine found 146A. in the same plant checked the earthing current on other alternator it was 52A, and neutral 116 A. we are facing problems with our controller and the card was damaged once. can that neutral/GND current be a reason? as there is common grounding for the Alternator,Brkr panel,Transformer?
