Machines:-It is a device by which a force acting at one point in a particular direction is made available at some other point and in some other direction
Lever:-It consists of a rigid rod having a fixed point in it about which the rod can turn. The fixed point is called the fulcrum of the lever. These are three types of levers
(i)In the 1st type of lever the effort p and weight w act on the opposite sides of the fulcrum
(ii)In this, the effort p and weight W act on the same side of the fulcrum f, the distance of effort p being greater than the distance of w from f.
(iii)In this effort p and weight w act on the same side of fulcrum f but the distance of p is less than the distance
