How to caluculate the RRF and correction factor in hplc
Answer / dr. harshvardhan joshi
RRF is nothing but relative retention factor. As the name suggests it is relative to something.
To calculate RRF, its first important to calculate RF (Response factor)
Reponse factor = Peak area of analyte/concentration of analyte
In order to find out concentration of unknown analyte, or when analytes response is very low with respect to the main analyte RRF calculation can be used. If there are two analytes, (X) and (Y) and if concentration of one is unknown. Then,
RRF = RF of Y/RF of X (RF values from above calculation)
This type of calculation is beneficial when we are using one of the analyte as internal standard
