During beta emission another particle formed with beta particle called anti-neutrino. both the particles beta and anti-neutrino are sharing the energy released during the beta emission hence the energy distribution of beta decay is continuous.

In beta decay ,particles like antineutrinos are also emitted with electron and energy is shared by both of them on all proportion. Electron energy is no longer fixed hence energy distribution is continuous
