India is the power supply is 230v 50hz,so why the other countries 110v 60hz AC power supply why?

I think all the above answers are wrong.
Nearly all of Asia, Europe and Australia use the 220 - 240V,
50Hz system.
In India, it was adapted from the British Standard.
Voltage and Frequency are independent. Voltage is a compromise
between safety and efficient transport.
Higher Voltage needs less copper in wires and more insulation.
It was simply chosen arbitrarily as was practical to generate
at that time.

Its depend on hardware.make sure using hardware are comfortable with 230/110 but that a reason for other country technology are develop for save energy as soon as possible so think are positive then implement are also positive.so using more equipment 110v.
