In C8,C18....etc have 4&5 etc... microns Columns is there like
that how to separate Chiral columns as per Micron size?
Answer / developer
In general columns like C8 and C18 brands they mention
particle size like 3micron or 5 micron. But for chiral
columns also separation effect on the particle size we can
see good resolution with low particle size. For chiral
columns they mention for example chiradex for a particlular
particle size and for low partical size it could be
mentioned as chiradex-HS.

In HPLC Chromatographic separation Resolution equation is Rs = 1.18 (tR2 –tR1)/wh1+Wh2, Where, tR2 and tR1 is run time of eluent ratios of the distances from the point of application to the centers of the spots and the distance travelled by the solvent front from the point of application (retardation factor), and Wh1and Wh2 , is peak width of at half height. What is 1.18 ?
