Answer / sagar patel
Flux is produce Due to alternative action of voltage, and
there is no alternative action in dc supply. Hence, There
is no flux produced in DC supply, so current is not
produced. Due to the dc supply winding get very high
temperature, and it may cause of blast. THAT'S WHY WE ARE
NOT USING DC SUPPLY IN TRANSFORMER.

AC supply having frequency,DC donot have.
So Induction cannot take place,

AC able to generate varying flux because of variation property.
DC unable to generate flux because of constant property.
generated Flux have to travel from primary core to secondary core which is not possible in the DC mode.
Due to this reason, DC are not used in the transformer.
But, if we use it then transformer will burn as per rating of DC voltage.

when dc is fed to the t/f then the current flow in primary winding but it is not in alternating nature so there is no mutual inductance take place. if d.c continuously fed to t/f after a limit the t/f may burn out.
