Drilling is a technique that enables you to analyse the
data in your report on different levels of detail.

Drilling down: It means displaying progressively more
detailed data.

Drilling up: It means you display data at a less detailed
level.

Drill By: Allows you to go straight to a particular level
in the hierarchy without having to visit each level in turn

Drilling Through :
When you are drilling on a heirarchy, you may need to drill
further than the scope of analysis allows.Rather than
setting up the scope of analysis back in the query
panel, you can use a short cut that lets you add more
drillable dimensions from the other heirarchy. This process
of appending more dimensions on-the-fly is called drilling
through.

Drilling Across:
The process of selecting the level of analysis directly in
the different heirarchy is known as drilling across. That
means we can set some navigation path which will help us to
navigate directly to the target for drilling.

Here i would like to add one more terminology called
snapshot:

Snapshot: You may want to keep track of the different
levels of analysis that you reveal as you drill into your
data. You can do this by taking a snapshot of the report at
any stage. When you take a snapshot, BusinessObjects
creates a copy of the report in a new tab inside the
document.

Drill down and Drill up= I have a report which shows country
and revenue, when i do drill down i will the report as State
and revenue, further i will get city and revenue. But in case
of drill up ,when i say drill up from city, revenue i will

Drill By-You can select the object through which you can
apply the drill.

Drill Through-Suppose i am drilling down by
