Why RX LEVEL is Negative in GSM????
Answers were Sorted based on User's Feedback
Answer / ankit kankane
because of air attenuation , the RX level is -ve .
we know
P(dbm)= 10 +10 log p(w)
o dbm = 1 mW
-10 dbm= 0.1 mw
-20 dbm =0.01 mw
normally GSM 900 , 1800 we transmit RF in Antenna ,power = 20 to 25 W
depending on Cell sector,
& we receive only <0.01 mw because of AIR attenuation and other external attenuation , we always get the receiving(Mobile set) singal in '-ve' dbm .
