Generally it is very difficult to differentiate both but
difference is at the end product.

Basically the difference between crystallization and precipitation is the end product. Both are phase changes in which a solid is formed; however, crystalization produces crystalline solids while precipitation produces amorphous solids. Crystalline solids are more highly ordered than amorphous solids, and so it is generally harder to produce crystals than precipitates (this is especially true for biologists like me who try to crystalize proteins). In general, if you let the phase change occur more slowly (i.e. supersaturate a solution then let it cool) you will form crystals wheras if you let the phase change occur rapidly (i.e. mix two solutions and a solid forms immediately), you will form a precipitate

ENGINEERING DRAWING - EXAMPLE 18.3 : Autocad computer program is used to draw a pipe that is used to transport natural gases for processing. Actual length of the pipe is 10 metres. The pipe has cross sectional area of circle in shape with measured circumference of s = 3 metres. (a) If 10 units are used to represent the actual length of the pipe in computerised engineering drawing, find the diameter of the pipe, d that will be shown in the engineering drawing. (b) If one unit in the program equals to 1 centimetre, find the scale used in the computer program.
ENGINEERING PHYSICS - EXAMPLE 30.3 : (a) The quantum number m is given by m = -s, -s + 1. If s = 0.5, find the values of m. (b) | T > = (cos T) | V > + (sin T) | H >. The V and H states form a basis for all polarizations. Let cos T = 0.8. (i) If (sin T)(sin T) + (cos T)(cos T) = 1, find the value of sin T. (ii) For | T > = a | V > + b | H >, where a x a represents the probability of | V > and b x b represents the probability of | H >. Which one is more abundant, | V > or | H >? (iii) Find the value of T without using any mathematical tools.

ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING - QUESTION 22.3 : A well delivers 225 US-gallons per minute of water to a chemical plant during normal system operation. (a) Calculate its flowrate in the unit of mega US-gallon per day or MGD. (b) The following formula is written next to the chlorine feed point : (chlorine feed rate, lb / day) = (flowrate, MGD) X (dose, mg / L) x (8.34). If this formula is correct, then what should the chlorine feed rate to be in pounds per day (lb / day) if the desired dose is 2 mg / L. (c) Prove by calculations that the constant 8.34 in the formula next to the chlorine feed point is correct. Let 1 US-gallon = 3.78541 L and 1 mg = 0.0000022046 pound.
