Area under bh curve shows the energy loss per cycle per unit volume.. by tracing the bh curve we get the knowledge of several properties of that material like coercivity and retentivity fe ,alnico etc if the area of bh curve is wide it is hard magnet and if narrow it is soft magnet..B always lags behind H due to the reorientation of domains in ferromagnets materails like fe.we get the information of behaviour of differnt materials by BH curve plotting
