My position will be 1st as the one who is next to me was
running 1st which now is overtaken by me, so my place will
be 1st in that race.

2nd position.
B'cos i had overtook the 2nd, not the first. so, I M 2nd &
the man, I had overtook is 3rd now(& the 1st is yet first).

it depends......
because, there are 2 persons next to you, the one who is at
1st position and the one who is at 3rd position. so, you
will either be 1st or 3rd, depending on whom you over took
and in which direction( forward or backward)

In an order next means 2nd after 3rd not 1st, so the place
will be same as 2nd

When i am running in Race at 2nd Position, there will me many
people who came to see my Race. And most obvious the people
may be standing at the two sides of track. So there may be
plenty of people who is next to me. So while i overtake them
i will be remain as it is on 2nd Position
