what will happen if we use petrole in diesel engine and
diesel in petrole engine

Deisel engines are designed for self igniting fuel. & has
higher compressor ratio, petrol is not a self igniting
fuel. it needs spark to burn so putting petrol in deisel
engine will not work.
Deisel has property of self ignition @ higher pressure &
temp. & if placed inside petrol engine, by introduction of
spark engine can work.

above answer is correct. but the question now arises... will the diesel work perfectly in petrol engine?
answer is "NO", because of the carbon accumulation near the spark plug, the engine will soon stops. . .

Diesel engine have injector to spry diesel and burnt the air fuel mixture at temp with spark plug, but if u use diesel in petrol engine ,there ignition temp is higher than petrol so it will not combusted at the petrol engine temp , so we cannot use petrol instead of diesel ,both are specific property in combustion chamber...

If diesel is put in a petrol engine it can never work because the compression ratio in petrol engines is very less to raise the diesel to its self ignition temp. which can only happen in diesel engines. If diesel could b used in petrol engines why would we put petrol to our bikes instead of diesel which would save us atleast 20 Rs/ltr. Simple logic, Mr.Prakash ur ans is wrong.
On the other hand if petrol is put in a Diesel engine, due to the high compression ratio , the temp. at the end of compression would be so high that if a spark is produced at this temperature by the spark plug , it can cause an explosion .

Put diesel in a petrol engine and it will not explode,
nor even burn. The engine will not run. You might as well
have tried to burn water.
Put petrol in a diesel and it will explode at a much
higher pressure than the burning diesel could develop.
The result would be pieces of engine scattered all around as
it exploded from the pressures it was never designed to use.
